Pirates determined to honour George Barbour in Malindi friendly

South Coast Pirates will need no extra motivation in order to win the planned friendly against Malindi RFC when the two sides clash in a preseason fixture slated to happen this Saturday, according to acting South Coast Pirates chairman Kelvin Nduhiu.

Pirates will be in action away against Malindi and following the untimely loss of club founder and chairman George Barbour, who sadly passed away after battling illness, the acting chair Nduhiu believes that the boys will be motivated by nothing more but to win in order to honour the late Barbour whose efforts have been instrumental in the development of rugby in the coast region through the formation of the club back in 2013.

‘’The clash against Malindi is our first preseason match in readiness for the upcoming season and given the passing of Mr Barbour who undoubtedly would have wanted to witness the beginning of Lawrence Buyachi’s era, the players will feel indebted to honour a legend not with us anymore.’’ Nduhiu said

‘’It’s a friendly match but for us we will be playing for something a bit more after what has been a trying week for ourselves as a club and the family of Mr George Barbour himself.’’ he added
