South Coast Pirates are set for their first away fixture this season when they travel to face Mean Machine at the University of Nairobi grounds on Saturday 2nd December 2017.
The match will also serve as Pirates first fixture in the second edition of the Championship after the curtain raiser against JKUAT was postponed to a later date.
Already at the top of the log, Machine endured a smooth transition into the Championship as they began life in the country's second tier with a 32-0 thrashing of Catholic Monks to become the biggest winners of round one and send a strong statement of their intention to return to the Kenya Cup following relegation along with Western Bulls at the close of last season.
Aside from whipping Monks, Machine will undoubtedly be buoyed by the home factor and after producing industrious performances against several Kenya Cup sides during the Floodies where they emerged fourth overall, extra focus will be put on this matchup as it is set to mark their first ever home game in the Championship.
Pirates themselves will also be facing Mean Machine in only their first time ever and will be eager to pick up their maiden points in a bid to lessen the gap between them and their weekend opponents whom are targeting to back up the bonus point win picked in Karen last Saturday.
The team, however, will draw motivation from the words of Kenya international Davis Chenge who has taken charge of the forwards training sessions throughout the week and is hopeful of one of Machine's major strength, their forward pack, finding it tough this weekend.
"It will be a difficult task against Machine but if the forwards are able to take in what I'm trying to teach them by the end of the week, i'm sure they will definitely have the ability to stand up to the Machine guys and might as well dominate that game." said the Kenya Simbas loose forward
The Pirates party to Nairobi will be announced in due course.
